Sidenote Saturday: Facial Scrubs

Facial scrubs are my best friends. Sometimes my skin just feels so dirty that I can stand at my sink and scrub for like five minutes (don't do that! it can be bad for your skin- but it feels sooo good!)

With the summer months (read: heat, humidity, subway station grossness) fast approaching, I thought I'd share my favorite scrubs. They're cheap (less than $5.00), easy to find, and perfect for that squeaky-clean feeling.

#1 St. Ives Apricot Scrub

This scrub has three types: Blemish and Blackhead Control (for oily skin), Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub (regular) and Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub- Gentle (for sensitive skin). I use the one for oily skin. This product is a little bit thick, and the scrubbies are fairly big- you can feel individual scrubbies.

You can find this at any drugstore for around $3.50-$4.00.

#2 Queen Helene Oatmeal n' Honey Natural Facial Scrub

I've been teased for using such a black grandma product line but I LOVE Queen Helene! The Oatmeal n' Honey scrub smells good without being super-fragranced. The scrubbies in the wash are really fine, and it feels like washing your face with a fine paste. The product itself is a little more watery than the St. Ives, but it still leaves me with the super clean feeling.

Queen Helene face scrubs can be found at any drugstore (and some beauty supply stores!) for anywhere from $1.99-$2.99.
